EXCITING! LIFE CHANGING! UNFORGETTABLE!
PARTY WITH THE GYPSIES
Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey
August 7 – 19th 2005
Global Celebration & Staff
Welcomes you and sends New Wine Blissings
I am Yana, one of your mission trip coordinators for our outreach
to Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece this August. Let me start off
by saying that I am absolutely thrilled about our 4th annual
trip to Eastern Europe. We truly have an awesome group signed
up! Many people are coming for the second and third time, and
for others it is their first mission experience. I have spoken
with many of you and am beginning to feel like I know you all
already. It is so exciting, every trip that we take becomes more
fun, more filled with miracles, more laughter, more souls, and
more of Jesus.
THE GYPSIES COULD NOT BE AN EASIER PEOPLE TO LOVE!
The Gypsies are a passionate people, and they welcome love with
open arms...a simple smile, hug, or kiss on the cheek could melt
even the hardest gypsy heart. So get ready and prayed up; prepare
to open up your hearts and your arms to love Jesus’ beloved
Gypsies with.
We are expecting the Lord to do many awesome things this year.
We are believing for an increased anointing and presence of God,
creative miracles, loads of souls, broken barriers in resistant
hearts and irrevocable freedom and joy in the hearts and lives
of thousands of Gypsies. So hold on to your seat as you become
one of Global Celebration’s radical group of new wine ministers!
TRIP HOUSEKEEPING:
Thank you to everyone for getting your deposits in on time.
There are many things to be done between now and August, and both
Amy and I will do everything that we can to help you. To help you
plan and prepare properly, here are a few important items that
will require your attention over the next few months. Please read
each section carefully:
PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
If you have not paid for your trip in full as of yet, please note
the payment deadlines for your remaining balance:
$1,100 due June 1st:
In addition to your initial $350 deposit, another $1,100.00 must
be received by our bookkeeper no later than June 1st.
$1,400 (or remaining balance) due July 1st:
By July 1st your remaining balance is due. If you have only paid
the $350 deposit and the June 1st installment of $1100, that
would leave you with $1400 due.
All payments should be sent to our bookkeeper at the following
address:
Global Celebration
PO Box 278
Tacoma, WA 98401
Attn: Marci
Your check must arrive in Marci’s office on or before the
due dates, and should be marked as payment for your participation
in the Gypsy outreach this August. If you prefer to pay on-line,
PASSPORTS:
Passports take around 6 weeks or more to process, so if you have
not applied already we would advise you to start immediately. You
can pick up forms from most post offices. Once those are filled
out, bring it back to the post office with two (2) pictures, and
two 2 forms of ID (one form must be your birth certificate). For
more detailed information, visit this website: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html
TRANSPORTATION IN AND OUT OF NEW YORK:
You are responsible to work out your transportation to and from
New York’s JFK International Airport. Please make sure that
you arrive at JFK Airport at least 4-5 hours prior to our departure.
It takes some time to process such a large group on an international
flight.
This year we have decided to use Carlson Wagonlit as our travel
agency. If you need to fly to New York, because this is a missionary
trip, the agency has offered to help you find a good fare, and
will not charge you any agency fees on your ticket. Feel free to
contact them and give them a try. They are Christians too! Here
is their contact information:
Carlson Wagonlit Travel, located in Washington State (Pacific
Standard Time) –
Telephone: 425-775-1595 or toll free 1-800-622-3342.
Ask the receptionist for the “Missionary Department” and
then tell the person you are speaking with that you are from “Global
Celebration.”
NEW YORK HOTEL:
We are currently working on finding a good group discount with
a hotel in Queens, NY that has a shuttle to the airport. We will
notify you of our findings shortly. In the meantime, we would like
to take a survey – please let us know if you need a hotel
for either the evening prior to our departure, and/or, for the
evening of our arrival back into the United States.
TRAVELLERS HEALTH INSURANCE:
The Bulgarian government requires each person entering their country
to have health insurance coverage. Let me reiterate that this insurance
is mandatory, and you are responsible for arranging it for yourself.
We have found a good and reasonably priced Travel Insurance Company.
The travel insurance’s website is http://www.accessamerica.com/ and their toll free number is 1-800-284-8300.
You will notice that one of the questions on your required “Medical
Liability Release Form” asks you to verify whether or not
your current medical plan covers you outside of the country. If
your plan covers you, please submit copies of your card showing
your plan name and member number to Amy Brink. If your plan does
not cover you, then you will need to supply a copy of your purchased
trip insurance policy.
If you haven’t already, please send your completed Medical
Release Form, Proof of Medical Coverage overseas, Liability Release
Form, and a copy of the inside front page of your Passport (showing
photo and all ID information) to:

411 Smithfield Rd.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
For general questions such as “What to Pack?” or “What’s
the Weather Like?” please stop by http://www.riverlution.net/faq.htm,
and if your question is not listed, don’t hesitate to ask
either Amy or myself!

JOY AND WORSHIP IS HEAVEN'S SERIOUS BUSINESS:
In speaking with so many of you, we had found out that many are
musicians and or singers. Since worship is a crucial part of our
outreach, we want to invite the musicians to please bring your
instrument of choice!
There will be many opportunities for you to bless the Lord with
your talent, so please come equipped and prepared. We also want
to mention that the Gypsies are in need of instruments, so if the
Lord leads you, you are MORE than welcome to bring instruments
to give to the Gypsies there. They would be SO BLESSED!
They need guitars, bass guitars, strings, microphones and especially
keyboards (other instruments not mentioned are also welcome.) The
instruments that need to be checked will be counted as your second
piece of luggage.
Musicians and singers can visit this helpful link as it will enable
you to learn a lot of the music that we would potentially play
together: http://www.riverlution.net/georgianatmychurch/new.htm
Another crucial part of the outreach would be our ‘Praise
Parades’ through the Gypsy neighborhoods. Each city that
we visit, we will take ‘joy walks’ during which we
dance in the streets with the people and invite them to come to
the outreach. This is a perfect opportunity to whip out colorful
flags and any noisemakers you have!!! Tambourines, Kazoos, Hand
Drums, Whistles, Bells… anything to make a joyful noise.
If you are someone who loves to worship the Lord through flags,
please make/bring flags that you can leave with them. We would
love to bless them and leave the noisemakers and flags behind.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BRING GIFTS:
Speaking of giving gifts to the Gypsies, there are many things
you can bring besides musical instruments: Toys, New or Slightly
used Clothing, New Undergarments, Personal Hygiene Products,
Toothbrushes, Toothpaste (maybe you could ask your dentist to
donate), Band-Aids, Pencils, Markers, Crayons….just to
name a few ideas.
We recommend that you DO NOT bring candy to give
to the children because you may cause a riot, however
STICKERS
are a great
thing to minister to the children with when out on the street…they
love them! Another idea is to bring fabric ribbon or present wrapping
ribbon and cut them into strips and tie them around their wrists.
From experience, I have seen that they love WEARING something that
the “Americans” gave them! :o) Maybe these suggestions
will spark an idea of your own. One important thing to note is
that it’s a good idea to put “give away items” in
a separate bag and check them as your second piece of luggage.
The second bag will be LEFT in Bulgaria, so it’s good to
put gifts in an old bag/suitcase that you don’t mind leaving
behind. Old bags can be easily found at Thrift Stores, Rummage
and Yard Sales.
There are two ways in which we distribute gifts. The first is
through ministry with the stickers when we are joy parading through
the streets and gathering in worship and fellowship together. Because
of the large number of children in each village, it is important
that
you bring A LOT of whatever it is that you are going to hand out.
If there is a gift you would like to distribute, you need to be
sure that you have at least a couple hundred or more of
that item. If one child gets something and another child doesnt,
they do tend
to
fight,
and
we want to
avoid
that.
So unless you have a couple hundred of a small item (small because
travel space is tight) it is best to include your gifts in our
second category of gift giving.
Gifts in the form of clothing, personal hygiene products, dental
care, art supplies, toys etc., which will be transported in your
second
"disposable"
piece of luggage, and that luggage will be collected when we
first arrive in Sofia, Bulgaria. From there the pastors of each
church
will
take
the donated
items back to their villages and distribute them to the people
in their neighborhoods in a quiet, inconspicuous fashion, AFTER
our group has travelled through the town. It has been the most
successful
way
we have found
to avoid small riots and feelings of being left out in case there
is not enough of everything to go around. For everyone's safety,
and emotional consideration of the Gypsies, we greatly appreciate
and encourage your cooperation in these matters.
Once again, thank you so much for your desire to love the Gypsies.
We are honored and feel very privileged to have you join us. If
there is anything else that we can do to help you, please do not
hesitate to contact us. We pray you have an abundance of the Lord in your life today!
Affectionately,
Yana Banova
